Weekends can be very busy her in Yuma (remember last weekend was the Elvis Expo). It seems there is always something going on, some place we want to be, something or someone we want to visit and this weekend was no exception. We spent much of the weekend at the Southwest's premier classic car event featuring over 1,000 classic cars here in Yuma. Friday late afternoon the Fords and us set our lawn chairs on a corner to watch the cars as they cruised from the Greyhound Park to the Desert Sun Stadium one beautiful and classic car after another. On Saturday we all drove over to the Stadium to view the show and shine, walking up and down each aisle to further inspect the cars up close.
Shortly after we exited the car show, we hurriedly drove back to the motorhome and picked up our folding chairs, a dish to share and beverages. A couple, Sonny and Linda, in the foothills invited any Boomers in the area over to their lot for happy hour/potluck social. Our hosts provided the fixings for tacos and the rest of us added the appetizers, salads and desserts, nary a thing was left out. Over 40 of showed up to spend the rest of day and early evening chatting, eating and trading tales. Thanks Sonny and Linda for the wonderful shindig--we had a great time!
