Weekdays in Yuma

Weekends tend to busy because that’s when the special events are held, but what happens during the week?? If you want to do something—there is always something to do.
Craft fairs in Yuma are held almost everyday of the week except for Sundays from December through March. There are literally 100’s of RV parks and many have craft fairs that open to the public. They put out a schedule that details the information of which day, time, where and how big the parks is so decision can be made by those who wish to attend or sell.

Wednesday is Movie Day for seniors—tickets are only $4 for any movie and each person gets the largest bucket of popcorn FREE! As you know the keyword is “free”, so the Boomers pick a movie and those available go. The movie theater is on Main Street in old town Yuma, but inside décor is completely updated and playing 1st run movies.
This year we’ve seen a number of movies, such as ‘Just Go With It’, The Dilemma, Unknown, Rango, Little Fockers, True Girt, Adjustment Bureau, and other others I’ve now forgotten their names, but our favorite was by far “King’s Speech”.
There are also Tuesday and Thursday Farmers Markets, the Yuma Marketplace filled with vendors from A-Z, classes at the local community college, workshops and many of the RV parks offer classes in clogging, line dancing, beading, painting, woodworking, photography, computers and lots more.

The question is not what to do, but what not to do, because of course there are the everyday have to or want to personal to do’s. The laundry, the bill paying, the cleaning, the grocery shopping, the cooking, staying in contact with family and friends far away, time for our walks and us, reading and keeping up on the unending list of tasks still remaining on our ‘to do lists’. And while we are at making decisions of what we will or will not do today, some days are deemed the much needed alone time day for one of us. When one spends 7/24 with another, it is important  that one or the other finds something to do that creates space and time for their spouse to be all alone:) Ah balance is a continued goal in all things important.
