Another Goodbye—So Long Yuma

Another winter, another season of firsts and another round of hugs and goodbyes. For the 1st time in our 7 years as full-timers we stayed put, for the most part in Yuma, AZ, with only short forays out here and there. We had more time to spend with friends, more time to explore this area, more time to attend gatherings and events that allude our usual travel schedule and more time to contemplate what staying longer in one place would feel and look like for us.
As this season comes to a close, and the temperatures climb, more and more RV’ers move on, or travel back to their homes somewhere cooler than here. And so it is for us, we are leaving Yuma and beginning our trek back to the NW.

So now the last of the last began.....This week our last games of Pegs and Jokers in Yuma were played at Jim and Diane's new place in Foothills. Dan and Jenny joined us and I'm sad to report the guys win 2 the girls won 1--sometime you're just not on your game. The next night we all got together for one last dinner out at the Moose Club for their weekly shrimp and fish fry. Then a day later, Chuck and Jan held what would be our last Boomer Happy Hour in AZ for this season. It is always nice to spend time with friends, but it was especially great to be able to socialize,  indulge in shared yummys, say our goodbyes, get and exchange  hugs and hear from everyone what their plans will be this summer. We sure appreciated these timely events—it was a great way to end the winter!
