It's time to play outside in Florida once again

This week shorts and flip flops have reappeared as the spring like weather, with temperatures in the mid 70's, spread its warmth on all in Florida. It is evident that most are delighted to be outside once again. Bike riders are peddling, the pool is active with swimmers and water volleyball, Pickleball players have returned to the court and folks chat with one another from under their awnings as walkers pass by their RV's.

Today we awoke to a bright sunlit morning and decided it would be a perfect day to go to Webster's Flea & Farmers Market. The market is only open on Mondays from 8 am - 2 pm, it advertises itself as the largest in Florida and therefore draws huge crowds. There are hundreds of vendors selling almost anything that can be bought, as well as farmers selling their fresh picked products. We took advantage of the beautiful warm day to meander through the booths, finding a treasure here and there. From the farmers market we carefully made our choices, asparagus, green beans, red, orange & green peppers, tomatoes, avocados, cilantro, onions, lettuce, bananas, oranges and of course those very large, bright red, Plant City strawberries found their way into our bag. The prices are much less expensive than in the grocery stores making this a bargain we can't pass up. The only draw back is the traffic jam that is created on the two-lane road in to this very tiny town, but I guess when you're retired you don't need to be in a hurry as time is one thing you have and can spend as you wish.

Our time in Florida will soon be coming to an end. We will leave the Orlando/Clermont area tomorrow and move on to the Gult Coast of Florida to spend a few days. Then we head north to spend a few more days along the coastal towns in the panhandle. It always feels good to get back on the road and we are looking forward to seeing new sights along the way.
